I had quite a few tender mercies this week. I want to focus on the good things that made me happy this week. I made a cute card for my dad's birthday with pictures of the two of us. On Tuesday, I found a therapy/doctor company online that was able to meet with me the same day I signed up for their services and prescribe me the medicine I need. I got it same day! And wow, there truly is a difference in the way my body and mind function when I take my SSRI meds. It's so much easier to be peaceful, calm, nice, and energized. Tuesday was dad's birthday, and we had the most delicious smoked-ribs dinner.
On Thursday, I covered for a coworker. I went to institute, where we talked about LGBTQ issues, and I found out that my inspiring, faithful teacher is gay. She shared what that is like for her. After, they had a ton of cookies for dessert. At first, I was a little disappointed, but then I heard that the lady in charge ordered cookies from a company that makes food that are free from the nine major allergies (including gluten and dairy) and I was so so so happy and excited. I of course had to try a bit from all three of them ;) The lemon ones were yummy, and the chocolate marshmallow ones were YUMMY!
I applied for a new job this week and got an interview for next week! This new job has higher pay than my current job (by 3 to 5 dollars), more hours (it'll be full-time), and I will be able to do school work during work during down-time. I am not sure if it'll be a good fit with school, but I am optimistic because my current job is so dark and negative. Just not a place where the Spirit resides. Here is a selfie I took at work and sent to Lucy.
Saturday night, I hosted a game night with some friends and some guys I was interested in getting to know better. One of the guys was the one I went on an ice skating date with last week. After the game night, I am not as interested anymore. But it was super fun! Everyone had a blast and we had yummy snacks :).
For Sunday, I made yummy pumpkin bread for the linger longer after church. Even the people who could eat gluten wanted to eat them because they looked a whole lot better than all of the pies. One great quote I heard at church today was that you can't control what happens to you, but you can control what happens within you.
Much love,
Emily Burnham
